    Privacy policy

How Split Ways collects, uses, shares and protects personal information.

    What we collect

We collect information you provide, including your name, contact details, relationship and family information, financial information, suitability answers, application drafts, feedback and messages.

We also collect service records such as sign-in and sharing events, call requests, package choices, payment status and support activity. Stripe processes card details. We receive payment identifiers and status, not your full card number.

When you use the website, we may collect device, browser, page, referral, campaign and interaction information through security, analytics and advertising tools.

We use Statsig to analyse site interactions and replay navigation and interactions for selected visits. Replay capture masks customer inputs and personal or financial text, removes private link identifiers, and excludes private consent workspaces and staff pages.

    Why we use it

We use personal information to provide requested reports and services, verify access, save your work, process payments, arrange support, prepare application information, communicate with you, prevent misuse and improve the website.

We use marketing information only where there is an appropriate permission or other lawful basis. You can use the unsubscribe option in a marketing email. Service and security messages may still be required.

    Who receives information

We share information with people and providers only as needed to operate the service. This can include the family-law team supporting your matter and providers for hosting, authentication, payments, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring and customer communication.

Current providers include Supabase for application data and authentication, Stripe for payments, and email and analytics providers used by Split Ways. Some providers process information outside Australia under their own security and privacy arrangements.

Your former partner receives only the application version or private link you deliberately share with them. A matter ID or forwarded application address alone does not give another account access.

    Security and private links

We use access controls and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Keep verification codes and private report or application links confidential. Contact us promptly if you think someone has accessed your information without permission.

    How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business and legal records, resolve issues and meet applicable obligations. Retention periods can differ by record type.

A link expiring does not necessarily delete the underlying service record. Contact us if you want to ask about information linked to your account.

    Access, correction and questions

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity and consider legal or operational limits before completing a request.

For a privacy question, correction or complaint, email abbey@splitways.com.au. Include enough information for us to identify the relevant account or matter, but do not send card details by email.
